NEW CAR DETAIL
The best time to protect a car’s surface is when it is brand new. However, new car preparations are often overlooked. People think, “It’s brand new! It doesn’t need polished”.
You would expect a new car to be delivered and presented with the utmost of care, boasting flawless paintwork and perfect in every way (with nothing to hide). Unfortunately in this day and age, it is rarely the case. We’ve seen it all. From resprayed panels on BMW’s, or deeper scratches from dealership trade plates, to sanding marks and machine buffer trails on Porsches and Ferraris.
When your car leaves the factory, it goes on quite the journey. Often lying in large open and dirty storage yards, then travelling by rail or sea before it’s loaded on to a transporter to be delivered to the dealership. Damage during transportation and poor unskilled pre-delivery inspection (PDI) preparation at the dealership can lead to a whole array of defects and problem areas that may need addressing. Fine, or sometimes deep scratches, surface marring, factory induced sanding marks, machine holograms, bird lime etching, and metallic contamination are just some of the issues that are commonly found on new cars.
You are likely to be offered the in-house dealership ‘paint protection packages’ with “5 years protection”, “no more polishing” and other huge claims. In reality extras such as ‘Supaguard’, ‘LifeShine’, ‘DiamondBrite’, and ‘Gard X’ offer poor value for money. These products are often applied incorrectly and over poorly prepared paint finishes, as the in-house valeting teams are given strict timescales with minimal training, resulting in these products lasting a few months and not years as is claimed.
Before applying any protective coatings, we recommend our ’New Car Detail’ to ensure optimal results. The process takes 1-2 days (not 1-2 hours), comprising the industry's finest tools, techniques and chemicals. You will see an immediate, significant difference, even on a brand new vehicle. Our service prepares your car for optional ceramic coatings giving your car the best possible protection.
A ceramic coating gives the paintwork unrivalled UV resistance, dirt repellency, easy cleaning, and some swirl resistance thanks to state of the art nano quartz coating technology. We continually update the products that we use to provide you the latest in protection technology for your pride and joy.
It is advised to ask the supplying dealership to not wash, polish, or treat the car prior to collection. This way, we reduce the need for costly paint correction services where fine scratches and swirls from bad dealership contact could have easily been induced prior to handover.
